Google Interland

Just in time for summer break, MindFunk has once again teamed up with North Kingdom to create a a new initiative from Google that aims to teach kids, in a fun way, how to stay safe online.

The Web giant on Tuesday introduced Be Internet Awesome, a site that teaches kids “the fundamentals of digital citizenship and safety” like being careful about what they share online, how to spot scams and protect their privacy, and the importance of being respectful of others on the Web. Kids can head over to the Be Internet Awesome site and journey to a place called “Interland,” where they’ll embark on a quest to become a fearless explorer of the online world.

The Interland game is free and web-based so its accessible to everyone.

“In this imaginary world of four lands, kids combat hackers, phishers, oversharers and bullies, practicing the skills they need to be good digital citizens,”
